Echocardiogram

This is the long axis view of a dog's heart. The red/blue colors show the blood moving in the chambers of the heart. We can use echocardiography or ultrasound of the heart to evaluate the muscles, valves and chambers of the heart. Along the bottom of the image is an electrocardiogram reading - commonly called the EKG or ECG which shows the electrical activity of the heart.
